Google Ads is an online advertising platform developed by Google, where advertisers bid to display brief advertisements, service offerings, product listings, or videos to web users.

It can place ads both in the results of search engines like Google Search and on non-search websites, mobile apps, and videos.

Before you start

Here are a few things to know before you start.

  • Depending on what laws are applicable to your business, you may be required to notify visitors to your website or landing pages about tracking and allow them to opt out. For more information about how visitors can opt-out of Track with Google Analytics, take a look at Google’s help articles about data privacy and security.

  • You can change your tracking settings on your campaign before or after you publish your content.

  • If you update tracking on your published campaigns, you'll need to un-publish and re-publish it for your new settings to take effect.

  • Once you choose to remove any tracking tool from a campaign, it may take up to 30 minutes for it to be removed.

How it works

With Google Analytics on your landing page or website, you can collect information about page views and view the data in your Google Analytics account. To add this type of tracking, you’ll need your Google Analytics ID.

After you’ve turned on tracking, we’ll gather data about page views as people visit your published content and send it to your Google Analytics account.

Find your Google Analytics ID

You can find your Google Analytics ID on the Admin page of your Google Analytics account. For step-by-step instructions to find your tracking ID, visit the Google Analytics Help center. If you don’t have an account, you’ll need to set one up.

Once the campaign is created, go on Settings.

Enter the Power-Up section and select Google Analytics

Simply paste your Google Analytics tracking ID (the one you've found on your Google Analytics account, as we've seen above) - once you're done click save.

Click on save again to close the Power-Ups section; your Google Analytics Power-Up is up and running! Please notice it can take some time before the ID starts tracking your campaigns.
